MDD Augmentation: Thyroid Hormone

We continue our lecture series “10 Augmentation Strategies for MDD” with our third lecture on the role of thyroid hormine as an augmentation for major depressive disorder (MDD).

Thyroid hormone augmentation is one of the oldest augmentation options for individuals with depression who have not responded to traditional antidepressants. So far, we have discussed the role of atypical antipsychotics and lithium for depression augmentation. Let’s check how thyroid hormone augmentation is compared to both atypical antipsychotics and lithium.
