Journal Club #13:

International Trauma Questionnaire (ITQ) for PTSD Assessment.

Article: Br J Psychiatry. 2020;216(3):132‐137.

This journal club will answer the following six clinically relevant questions:

  1. How is PTSD different from CPTSD (Complex PTSD)?
  2. How to use ITQ (International Trauma Questionnaire) in your daily clinical practice to diagnose PTSD and CPTSD?
  3. Which one is common: PTSD or CPTSD?
  4. Which symptoms are commonly reported with PTSD and CPTSD?
  5. Association of PTSD and CPTSD with specific types of abuse.
  6. How and why is PTSD treatment response different in veterans versus non-veterans?

In this Coffee Club Dr. Paul Frewen will answer the following clinical questions:

  1. Is CPTSD more prevalent compared to PTSD?
  2. Historical significance of criteria’s used for the diagnosis of CPTSD.
  3. Any association of trauma exposure and presence of trauma symptoms?
  4. Clinically relevant points for the assessment of trauma in our daily clinical practice.
  5. Role of including ITQ in the assessment of trauma.
