Chronic Benzodiazepine Discontinuation: Pharmacological Options
Although benzodiazepines are only indicated for short-term prescription use, a certain percentage of patients can end up on the long-term use resulting in both physiological & psychological dependence. The first step is slow taper based on the toleration and response, but few patients will need additional pharmacological help for this benzodiazepine taper to succeed.
