MDD Augmentation: Lithium

We continue our lecture series “10 Augmentation Strategies for MDD” with our second lecture on the role of lithium as an augmentation for major depressive disorder (MDD).

Lithium is the only medication to be recommended by most guidelines for depression augmentation treatment and this is one of the most studied medication for this indication. For this reason, it is clinically relevant for medical professionals to have a detailed knowledge of this clinically relevant topic. 

Let’s begin with this question:

Lithium augmentation should be maintained in the lithium-antidepressant combination for how long after remission is achieved?
